Syria 1: The West’s Drive to War

The US and its supine supporters in the EU such as Britain and France are making increasingly bellicose statements about military intervention. Cameron has recalled Parliament on Thursday. The US has four Destroyers and numerous war planes on standby near Syria with British submarines. Saudi Arabia, the UAE and other oil-rich states are supplying a variety of religious, fanatical terrorists with weapons and ammunition – and intelligence support from Israel.

Wars of intervention invariably start with such rhetoric as “In the name of Justice, Freedom and Democracy….” yet the US and its allies are very selective about which regimes they wish to change and which despots they wish to support in power. Britain’s foreign policy is dictated by the US and a global neoliberal agenda.

Strange how austerity plays no part when it comes to the drive to war. No expense will be spared, while our own population suffers under the chaos of Capitalism.

Any western intervention will inevitably facilitate a war with Iran, and the US and Israel would dearly like to knock them out into the bargain. Iran, Russia and China have made a principled stand against western hegemony in the Middle East. The US and EU are going down a very dangerous path; their peoples have no wish for yet another war. Stop these warmongers. Capitalism guarantees war. We want Peace. The question is, will we make our voices heard? How far will we go to achieve the Peace we need?

Biden opposed moves to rebuild Afghanistan, advising a policy of fighting terrorism in the country. He also opposed withdrawal of US troops, which Trump carried out.

Biden's regime will hold on to enclaves in the North East and work alongside Turkish invaders, continuing sanctions against the Syrian government. In general, Biden wants US global leadership, which he sees as being diminished by Trump's inconsistencies.

Biden intends to have tighter sanctions on DPRK, and to have stricter preconditions with respect to engaging on talks. The Democrat's president also intends to strengthen an alliance against North Korea. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-biden-northkorea-analysi/biden-on-north-korea-fewer-summits-tighter-sanctions-same-standoff-idUSKBN25G2QO

The USA is run by an oligarchy of the mega-rich, who will maintain their power, through political, economic, propagandist legal and military means. They do so at home and around the world.
