Opposing Zero Hours Contracts

Unite the Union’s young members have handed an 85,000 signature petition to Vince Cable opposing the growing use of zero hours contracts. In Wigan the Bakers Food and Allied Workers Union are on strike against bread maker Hovis who think it’s smart to make workers redundant and replace them with zero hours agency workers and then stop talking to the union about the injustice. The assertion of dignity in this struggle should influence every workplace.
